Vintage Rally Tacoma update

1st coat was applied yesterday. Went on well. My mixture of half rustolium gloss white and mineral spirits was good but I mixed too much together and put too much on at a time which gave some spidery things in the paint. They wet sanded out alright and as I type the 2nd coat is drying.

Ah I didnt know you were doing it in Rustoleum. I did a whole vanagon in orange/white rustoleum some 4-5 years back. Came out nice, but just be wary the paint will chip alot easier than car paint.

I got hit and runned so I had a bunch of bodywork to do on a rear quarter. Said screw it Ill see how the rustoleum works. Nice solid $200 bus to start with too. 100K miles, engine didnt even need head gasket work.

I think im just going to leave the wheels as a rusty silver for now. If I find some on craigslist I'd like some alloys with the holes in them like the truck I'm basing this off of. And I just got new tires that are only 1 inch larger than stock so I'm just going to wear them out before I think about lifts or 32s. Anything bigger than a 32 on a tacoma looks funny to me. Ill probably end up with 31s. But it's 29s for now.

How did you mask off between the orange and the white?

I just ran masking right on a body line, and I painted the orange first. It was super easy and straight
